Canon 5D Mark III | Canon EF Wide-Angle 14mm f/2.8L II USM |
When Cazimi starts writing in 3rd person, she's either down bad or needs her medication adjusted. Today she went to pick up a new lens, the Canon EF Wide-Angle 14mm f/2.8L II USM and tested it out at Point Roberts. Just as a side note, Point Roberts is America that's not touching any other part of America. It's a sparse little piece of land surrounded by Canada and only reachable through a land border (unless you have a boat or are an exceptionally good swimmer.)
Anyway, she's not used to shooting anything this wide, and definitely not on a Canon body, so these test shots are all over the place. Regardless, it was an interesting test run. The slight vignetting irritates her, but that's the nature of a lens wider than your mother's-
Yeah, she's still pissed from the almost three hour traffic jam on the way back, and her soul has officially left her body. Enjoy the pictures or something, she doesn't care anymore.
As you can see, sharp in the middle and wonky everywhere else. This is not her preferred type of lens and look, but a fun one to have, in case she ever wants to see everything. Just as a precaution, do not walk while looking through the viewfinder with this lens on, you will absolutely walk into things because they look further away. She learned this lesson the hard way and is not salty about anything that happened today at all.
